Now is the time to dredge out the boat launch at North 21st Street in Billings Park.
The water is low, and the park and rec department could remove a lot of the snags, boulders and upright pilings. Earlier this year, their excuse for not doing this project was because fish were spawning. There are no fish spawning now, and there hasn't been a thing done.
To charge a fee at the Arrowhead, again when no attempt was made to even slightly deepen it at the dock, was a disgrace.
There were some bad and sad stories about launching at the Arrowhead this past spring and summer. Maybe the Park and Rec Department name should be change to the Pay and Raze Department.
