Lester LeRoy Pankow, 68, of Hawthorne, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
He was born June 8, 1938, in Superior to LeRoy and Grace (Parice) Pankow. Lester worked for Koppers Industries for 43 years as a lift truck operator. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his dog, Scruffy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lester is survived by his children, Leslie Pape of Brighten, Colo., Rhonda (Roger) McCall of Breaux Bridge, La., Debbie (Chris) Guillot of Youngsville, La., Tina (Mike) Conner of Lake Arthur, La., L. Shawn (Kim) Pankow of Salina, Kan., Diana (Randy) Paulson of Weatherford, Texas and Danielle (Mark) Pooler of Lake Nebagamon; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; former wife, Janice LeRoux of South Range; and special friends, Jerry and Shelly Amys of Hawthorne.
A celebration of Lester's life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Hawthorne Town Hall, 7221 S. Town Hall Road.
