Larry Dalbec, 57, Superior, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in his residence, surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1949, in Superior, to Donald and June (Farmer) Dalbec and was a lifelong Superior resident.

Larry married Laurie Fuller on April 19, 1985, and recently celebrated 21 years of marriage.

He was employed as a night supervisor at the Holiday Gas Station on Tower Avenue and Itasca for 17 years before retiring due to his illness in December 2005.

Larry was a devoted family man.

In addition to his wife, Laurie, Larry is survived by three sons, Kevin (Ronda) Dalbec, Lee Dalbec and Brett Dalbec; two daughters, Angelina Dalbec and Christina Dalbec, all of Superior; a grandson, Nate Dalbec; five brothers, Rick Dalbec, Greg Kastner, Mark (Deborah) Dalbec, Jason (Jennifer) Dalbec and Tyler Dalbec, all of Superior; three sisters, Deb (Henry) Koch, Stillwater, Minn., Patty Duffy and Lisa (Jon) Hurd, both of Superior; special sisters-in-law, Sondra Forrest and Kim Evavold-Bolf, both of Duluth; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Dalbec, his mother, June Dalbec and his grandmother, Agnes Dalbec.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. The Rev. Ronald Olson, pastor of Holy Assumption Catholic Church will officiate.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
