LaRayne P. Stewart, 73, of Iron River, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, in St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born on Aug. 16, 1933, to Frank and Theresa Wrazidlo in Duluth. While attending college, she met her future husband, Carl Stewart. LaRayne started her working career running her father's catering business at Frank's Meats, and then purchased Perk's Resort in Iron River, which became Stewart's Lodge. They also owned the Other Place in Iron River.

LaRayne currently owned and operated the Green Top Supper Club in Iron River. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Lion's Club both in Iron River.

LaRayne was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and family was very important to her. She was always giving to others and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl, two sons, Bill and Darrin and two brothers, Ron and Leonard Wrazidlo.

Surviving is a daughter, Michelle (Scott) Johnson of Iron River; two sons, Scott (Penny) of Oulu, and Jay of Iron River; a sister and best friend, Judy (Bill) Nelson of Duluth; brothers, Dick (Sue) Wrazidlo of Duluth, Bob (Barb) Wrazidlo of Iron River and Mike Wrazidlo of California; grandchildren, Kristin (John) Joseph, Jeffrey, Darrin, Race, Billy and Crystal; two great-grandchildren, Sydney and John Thomas and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Thursday in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Iron River. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Duluth. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home.
