Kiwanis partners with local zoo

Northland Kiwanis clubs are bringing the spirit of service alive in the Twin Ports by partnering with the Lake Superior Zoo and their Easter egg hunt Saturday.

Northland Kiwanis clubs are bringing the spirit of service alive in the Twin Ports by partnering with the Lake Superior Zoo and their Easter egg hunt Saturday.

The Easter egg hunt will be combined with many other activities, such as face painting, crafts and egg-a-pult at Lake Superior Zoo, 72nd Avenue West and Grand Avenue, Duluth, from 10 a.m to 1 p.m.

Kiwanis clubs from the area taking part are the Cloquet Golden K, Cloquet Noon, Friendly Duluth, Gitche Gumee, Port of Duluth, Spirit Valley, Ely, Grand Rapids Noon, Moose Lake, and Superior Kiwanis as well as Denfeld and Superior Key Club. All Carlton, Cloquet, Duluth, Chisholm, Ely, Grand Rapids, Hermantown, Hibbing, Moose Lake, Virginia, and Superior community members are invited to support this worthy cause.The activities are being held as part of Kiwanis One Day, a global volunteer action day uniting the entire Kiwanis family, including Kiwanis, Circle K, Key Club, Builder's Club, Atkion Club, K-Kids and Kiwanis Junior. On this day, Twin Ports volunteers will join nearly 600,000 volunteers around the world in devoting a few hours to hands-on volunteer service.
