Jules R. Van Ler Berge, 87, Superior, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, in the Golden Living Center of Superior.
He was born Jan. 28, 1919, in Middleburg, Belgium, to Theodore and Aobreine (DeRoits) Van Ler Berge.
Jules had been employed as a custodian at St. Francis Catholic Church and St. Francis School prior to working at Lakehead Pipeline from which he retired in 1983.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Jules is survived by two brothers, Joseph and Gerard Van Ler Berge and many nieces and nephews, all of Belgium and Holland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lia, on Jan. 17, 2000, and his parents and a sister, Yvone Dierikoc.

Private family services will be held Friday in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. Rev. Fr. Dean Buttrick of St. Anthony's Catholic Church will officiate.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
