Joyce M. Hoag, born Oct. 28, 1923, in International Falls, Minn., passed away peacefully at home May 2, 2007, in Wauconda, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a 55-year member of the Carpenters Local 839 and a decorated World War II Army veteran. Joyce truly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
For 54 years, he was the devoted husband to Jean; special father to Jackie (Horace) Ard, Jill (Chris) York, Jan Madziarek and Rob (Lynne) Hoag; and cherished grandfather of Jamie, Jonathon (Elizabeth), Sarah, Erin, Cathi, Matthew, Nikole (Alvin), Minda and Madelyn. He was the beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by his parents, Vane and Minnie; brothers, Van, Jim and Russell; sister, Betty and son-in-law, Jim Madziarek.
A private memorial was held.
