John "Jack" Izzard

John "Jack" Izzard, 73, of Platteville, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at his home. Jack was born Sept. 30, 1934, in Superior, the son of Clifford and Anne (Larsen) Izzard. He was united in marriage on April 7, 1956, in Milwaukee to Audrey Stuempges....

John "Jack" Izzard, 73, of Platteville, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at his home.

Jack was born Sept. 30, 1934, in Superior, the son of Clifford and Anne (Larsen) Izzard. He was united in marriage on April 7, 1956, in Milwaukee to Audrey Stuempges.

He owned the NAPA Auto Parts store in Platteville with his wife, Audrey from 1977 until 1998. He was a self-taught woodcarver. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren, and RVing when he retired.

Jack was a member of the Lutheran Church of Peace in Platteville, an amateur radio operator for 40 years, call sign KF9TN, and a former emergency medical technician in Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey of Platteville; three children, John (Cindy) Izzard of Goshen, Ind., Susan (Bruce) Gray of Iron Mountain, Mich., and David (Toni) Izzard of Platteville; eight grandchildren, Amy (Ron) Nagle, Brian Metke, Brooke (Eric) Frehse, Mindy (Vic) Neilson, Ben and Hilary Izzard, Steve and Jen Gray; one sister, JoAnn (Dexter) Larson of Duluth and two brothers, Jim (Joan) Izzard, Superior and Ernie (Becky) Izzard, Leal, N.D.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; mother, Anne; stepmother, Toni Krivanek; and an infant sister, Judith Izzard.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Platteville.
