Joan H. "Bones" Levens, 75, of Superior, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospice with family and close friends by her side.
Joan was born on March 15, 1932, the daughter of Jean (Fernquist) and Sam Midbon. She worked in the food service for the Automatic Vending Service.
She was an avid bowler for many years and took pleasure working with flowers and cooking. Joan loved life and spending time with her family and friends. She had a loving and giving spirit with a sense of humor that awarded her many wonderful friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Greg Levens of Superior, Tim (Lynn) Levens of South Range, Brad Levens of Superior, Tammy Levens of Superior, and Kim Levens of Duluth; grandchildren, Amber Held, Seth Rasmussen, Kyle Levens, Kjirsten Schneeberger and Angela Hayes; seven great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jack, Jim and Larry Midbon.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harley in 1982, a son, Todd Levens and brothers, Denny and Jerry Midbon.

Visitation will be Monday from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service in Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th Street and Ogden Avenue, with Pastor William Wilson officiating. Committal prayers will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jay Sorenson, Heather Martineau, Kyle Levens and Seth and Katie Rasmussen.
