The YMCA is sending care packages to soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan on Nov. 10. The cost to send each box is $12.95. Items requested include the following:
Letters from people, especially children
Hard candy, gum, licorice and snacks
Vacuum-sealed jerky
Writing paper and envelopes

Baby wipes
Feminine products
Q-tips
Shampoo and conditioner (for a man or a woman)
Batteries
Sunscreen

Thin work gloves - brown or tan
Thin stocking caps - dark colored, for under the helmet
Socks - white athletic; Marine, black; Army or Air Force, dark green
T-shirts - Army, brown, tan; Navy or Marines, green; Air Force, sand
DVD movies (PG-13 or milder)
Disposable cameras
Calling cards
Lotions and moisturizers
