Opera lovers rejoice. The 2007-08 season of live Saturday broadcasts of Metropolitan Opera performances air on the National Public Radio news and classical network of Wisconsin Public Radio starting Dec. 8.
Performances can be heard on WHSA 89.9 FM in Brule and 104.7 FM in Ashland.
The series begins with Gluck's "Iphigenie en Tauride" at 12:30 p.m. and continue each Saturday with a different opera by composers such as Puccini, Wagner, Donizetti, Verdi, Britten and Bizet for 21 weeks. NPR may also be heard online at www.wpr.org .
