Herbert G. Moss, 77, longtime Lake Nebagamon resident, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Herb served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He married Lois Johnson on July 2, 1954, at the Hawthorne Assembly of God Church and celebrated 53 years of marriage.

As he was growing up, Herb worked various jobs including the Minnesota Mining Co. and the Cudahy Meat Packing Plant. His true love was being a carpenter, building homes of which he took great pride.

He was active in the Hawthorne Assembly of God Church. He was a very big part of the construction of the new Church. He was also a member of the Charles David Williams VFW Post 10490.

Herb liked to hunt and spend time with his family, and his sons and their families were his pride and joy.

In addition to his wife Lois, Herb is survived by five sons, Herb (Linnea) Moss, Wally (Angie) Moss, Steve (Debbie Hanson) Moss, Andy (Annie) Moss and Tom Moss, all of Lake Nebagamon; 12 grandchildren, Crystal (Jason) Chad, Josh (Tammy), Mike, Marty, Justine, Stephanie, Misty, Amanda, Jesse, Jacob and Tom; five great-grandchildren, Nate, Greg, Josh, Madison and Erica; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Monday in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home and will continue at 10 until the 11 a.m. service Tuesday in the Hawthorne Assembly of God Church.

Pallbearers for the service will be his five sons and Kenny Miller.

Burial will be in the Lake Nebagamon Cemetery.
