Helga E. Ogren, 94, Port Wing, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. She was born July 20, 1913, in Port Wing to Julius and Mathilda (Lind) Larson and was a lifelong Port Wing resident. Helga had been a resident of Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center for the past three years.

She was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in Port Wing. She was also a member of the South Shore Civic Club and the Port Wing Historical Society.

Helga owned and operated Helga's Café for many years. She was also a waitress and cook at Jardine's Restaurant. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet Ogren-Niles, Seattle, Wash. and Louise (William) Duncan, Bloomington, Minn.; two sons, Marvin (Marjorie) Ogren, Port Wing and Ronald (Debra McHenry) Ogren, West Bend; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Helga was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph; her parents; and two sisters, Ellen Neuman and Esther Pudas.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. funeral service in the First Lutheran Church in Port Wing. Pastor Curt Rohland will officiate.

Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Port Wing.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
