The public can weigh in on air pollution permits for the Husky Energy refinery in Superior.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has made a preliminary determination the application submitted by Superior Refining Company LLC, 2407 Stinson Ave., meets state and federal air pollution control requirements and the permit should be approved.
The company’s permit application covers plans and specifications for a project to repair or replace damaged equipment at the refinery. The project includes the installation of two new process heaters, two new asphalt storage tanks and modifications to existing fluid catalytic cracking, vacuum, crude and alkylation units, a petroleum storage tank and cooling tower No. 1.
