A Minong native is joining Sen. Janet Bewley's office in Madison as a legislative aide.

Samantha Linden is a graduate of Northwood High School and attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, studying history and literature, before becoming an intern in the fall of 2017. The next spring, she became a limited-term employee in the Democratic senator's office, working through the end of the year. She started her first day as a full-time state employee on Friday, Jan. 18.

"I'm overjoyed to have Samantha continue on our team," said Bewley of Mason. "She brings fresh perspective and a northern Wisconsin flair to the office, which we will put to good use for the benefit of my constituents."

Linden is the second employee in the office who hails from the 25th District. Eric LaGesse, a Superior High School graduate who also attended UW-Madison, graduating in 2016. LaGesse's family has called Superior home since the early 1900s, and he personally is fan of the region's fledgling craft beer industry. Rounding out her staff are two experienced Capitol staffers who have worked for a variety of legislators in both the Senate and Assembly.

"I'm ready to get to work for the people of Northern Wisconsin and the state as a whole," Linden said. "I appreciate this opportunity and look forward to working for everyone in the 25th District."
