The 34th Superior Days runs Feb. 12-13 at the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor's Club in Madison.
Superior Days delegates will visit every representative and senator in the Wisconsin Legislature on the afternoon of Feb. 12.
Delegates will lobby for three issues impacting northwest Wisconsin:
• Medicaid rates around addiction treatment, behavioral health, nursing home care and personal care workers;
• Funding for locals roads with a proposal to allow Douglas and Bayfield counties to hold referendums for a half-percent sales tax to be used for local roads; and
• Support for the University of Wisconsin System biennial budget request, which would provide $2.68 million additional funding for UW-Superior.
In addition, Superior Days delegates will be meeting with at least seven agencies, and a request to meet with Gov. Tony Evers about a variety of agency and policy issues impacting Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland and Iron counties.
Seeking support for Better City Superior through an exposition district or other economic development tools will be one of the topics up for discussion during these meetings. Issue information may be found on the Superior Days website, SuperiorDays.com.
