Mayor endorses Engebretson for Congress
Superior Mayor Jim Paine is backing behind 7th District congressional candidate, Margaret Engebretson, in the upcoming midterm elections.
With difficult decisions to make in the Aug. 14 primary, Paine said the choice for Congress is clear: "I'm voting for a veteran. I'm voting for a union member. I'm voting for a fighter. I'm voting for Margaret Engebretson."
Engebretson of Balsam Lake and Dr. Brian Ewert of Marshfield are running as Democrats and face off Aug. 14; the winner will face Republican Congressman Sean Duffy in November.
"I know Margaret will fight for us because she is one of us," Paine said. "In a Congress that has become hyper-partisan and ineffective, I'm going to go back to the basics with my vote and choose people over politics. I'm going to choose integrity over ambition. I'm going to choose work over words. I'm choosing Margaret."
