Mail, online options available to pay property taxes

The second installment for 2017 property taxes is due July 31.

Due to construction on Belknap Street and limited parking around the Douglas County Courthouse, Douglas County Treasurer Carol Jones is encouraging taxpayers to pay their real estate taxes either by mail or online through the county's website.

To pay online, visit and select the following tabs: "Popular Services," "Property Taxes," "Pay Real Estate Taxes Online."

Online payments carry a 2.39 percent fee for credit card use, a flat $3.95 fee for Visa debit card processing and a flat fee of $1.50 for e-checks per transaction.
