Gypsy moth spraying takes place this summer throughout Douglas County. Residents who want to be notified of treatments in their area can call 800-642-6684, select Option 3, and leave their name, address and phone number, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Information about the gypsy moth "Slow the Spread" program is also available at that number or by calling the Douglas County Environmental Health Service at 715-395-1304.
Caregiver Conversations provides people a confidential, open forum to share concerns and receive useful advice and support from other caregivers and trained facilitators from the Aging and Disability Resource Center and Senior Connections. The group is open to all and is offered at no cost.
Caregiver Conversations takes place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at United Presbyterian Church, 229 N 28th St. E. and at 5 p.m. at the Lew Martin Senior Center, 1805 N. 16th St.
Several county government meetings are on the calendar for next week:
- The Transportation and Infrastructure meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the Douglas County Highway Department, 7417 S. County Road E, Hawthorne.
- Findings from the Communicable Diseases in Cervids Study will be available for review 4-6 p.m. Thursday, June 20, in Room 270 of the Government Center, 1316 N. 14th St., Superior.
- The County Board also meets Thursday at 6 p.m. in Room 201 in the Government Center.
