Gordon Conrad Melberg, born April 20, 1926 in Superior, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006.

Gordon was the loving husband of the late Barbara Sheffield Melberg and the proud father of five surviving children, Betsy Ann Couture of Elgin, Ill., Susan Jane Davis, Webster Groves, Mo., Nancy Sheffield Holekamp, Ladue, Mo., Patricia Young Wong, Baltimore, Md., and Peter Gordon Melberg, San Diego, Calif.; father-in-law of Glenn E. Davis, Nicholas A. Holekamp and John W. Wong; beloved grandfather of Jane, Kathryn and Stephen Davis, David Ham and Brandon Couture, Lindsay and Casey Wong and Jack and Katherine Holekamp and brother of Patricia Jane Murphy, Superior.

Mr. Melberg, a graduate of Northwestern University, served in the U.S. Army and was a long-standing executive with John Rohrer Contracting Inc., in the specialty concrete field. Known for his sense of humor, Gordon was an avid outdoorsman, woodworker, artist and chef who enjoyed making furniture, hunting and fly fishing, cooking and painting.

A memorial service and private interment will be Sunday, Dec. 17 at Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, 45 W. Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves, Mo. Memorials to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation are preferred.
