Goodwill matches employer needs

How about hiring someone that is excited to come to work each day and will be among your most loyal and dedicated workers? Then Goodwill's Community Employment Program may be for you and your business - large or small.

How about hiring someone that is excited to come to work each day and will be among your most loyal and dedicated workers? Then Goodwill's Community Employment Program may be for you and your business - large or small.

Goodwill's Community Employment Program was created to match employers and job sites with an employee from Goodwill's program -- ultimately finding a perfect fit. "Our current workers are placed in many jobs such as food-service, janitorial, mail rooms, and even making strings for musical instruments. Their job coach is trained along with the new employee to assure quality and production standards are met," explained Doug Carlson, Goodwill's assistant director. He also stated that the program provides many benefits such as flexible schedules, no workers' or unemployment compensation exposure with contracted placements and a possible no-cost training period. "It's also a good addition to a company's Corporate Social Responsibility program," said Doug.

Annually, more than 100 employees are working in a variety of businesses in the Northland for approximately 40 employers.
