George E. Olson, age 61, of 900 Wabash St., Ishpeming, Mich., passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007, at his home under the loving care of his family and Lake Superior Hospice.
George was born Sept. 13, 1945, in Superior to Edward E. and Pearl (Wright) Olson. He graduated from Superior Central High School and attended Wisconsin State College from 1964 to 1968 where he received his bachelor of science degree.
George served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1988. He served during the Vietnam War. George retired as a major from the Air Force. He piloted KC 135's and EC 47's.
George was a member of the Springbrook VFW. He enjoyed playing pool, making anything out of wood, reading and playing computer games. George was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
George is survived by his father, Edward Olson of Superior; two children, Scott (Libbi) Olson of Ishpeming and Lori (Leonard) Dominguez of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; four grandchildren, Shasta Olson, Scott Olson, Klaye Olson and Shannel Dominguez; a brother, Randy Olson; and three nephews, Kyler, Nathan and Chad Olson.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Olson; his mother, Pearl; stepmother, Evelyn; granddaughter, Erica Dominguez; and a brother, Gary.
Inurnment graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. EST Friday at the Ishpeming Cemetery, Ishpeming, with the Rev. Chuck Tooman to officiate, along with military honors.
