Marcie Dorow's free throw with no time on the clock gave the Duluth East Greyhounds a 48-47 win over the Superior High School girls basketball team Thursday night in the SHS gym.
With .04 on the clock, East inbounded the ball from under its own basket to near midcourt, which set up Dorow getting fouled on her long-range miss.
Dorow led the Greyhounds with 14 points, with Mandy Maruca adding 12.
Bettye Jo Nelson led the Spartans with 29 points. Sam DeMeyer added 12, Christa Diedrich had three, Janelle Strewler had two and Ashlee Knight made a free throw.
"It was a tough loss," SHS coach Dan Schulz said.
