Fortner heads Duluth Rotary

Larry Fortner is the newly-elected president of the Rotary Club of Duluth 25 and assumes office Sunday for the 2007-2008 Rotary year. He succeeds John Moir.

Larry Fortner is the newly-elected president of the Rotary Club of Duluth 25 and assumes office Sunday for the 2007-2008 Rotary year. He succeeds John Moir.

Fortner has been the club vice president, a director and has served on numerous committees since he joined the club in 1993. He is the founder and publisher of the Senior Reporter. He is the CEO of Fortner WordWorks, the parent company of the Senior Reporter and five regional senior and caregiver guides.

Fortner is a native of Indiana where he went to school. He attended the Indiana University School of Journalism. Fortner and his wife, Jerilyn, have a son, Jeff, and three grandchildren.

Other officers elected to the Duluth Rotary Club 25 for the 2007-2008 year are: Bonita Nelson, vice president and Jon Helstrom, secretary-treasurer. New board members are: Pete Weidman, Ann Giumac and David Fulda. Holdover board members are: Jim Landwehr, John Hoff, Louise Russell and Moir.
