A house fire Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the village of Oliver caused an estimated $75,000 damage, according to the Town of Superior Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
The fire at 2943 S. Chicago Ave. was reported at about 6:30 p.m., according to a news release from Town of Superior Fire Chief Darryl Fiegle.
Fire could be seen coming from under the deck of the one-story structure when the first engine, with a crew of two people, arrived on scene nine minutes later. Firefighters were able to enter the home and extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was accidental, Fiegle said.
Mutual aid was provided by the towns of Summit, Parkland and Oakland fire departments. Mayo Clinic Ambulance, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Superior Water, Light and Power also assisted with the call.
