Firefighters snuff garage fire

Superior firefighters responded to a garage fire at 1212 Hughitt Ave. Tuesday night. The blaze, which was reported at 9:24 p.m., did an estimated $1,000 damage to the single-stall detached garage. Smoke and flames were showing when firefighters arrived, but the blaze was quickly snuffed, according to Battalion Chief Vern Johnson of the Superior Fire Department. The fire was not suspicious in nature.
