Open burning restrictions in the rest of Minnesota also will be lifted this week.

Itasca and Cass County restrictions were lifted Wednesday. Crow Wing and Aitkin counties will lift their open-burning restrictions on Friday.

Superior National Forest will continue to have some campfire restrictions within the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The specifics of those restrictions can be found on the Forest Service Web site at www.fs.fed.us/r9/forests/superior .

The bans are being lifted because recent rainfall has decreased the fire danger across the state.
