Fairlawn Mansion and Museum invites women -- and men -- of the Twin Ports to partake in a Mother's Day tea and afternoon of sleuthing.

Fairlawn hosts a formal tea for mothers, daughters, aunts, sisters and nieces at 3 p.m. May 6, catered by the Boathouse Restaurant. As for any elegant tea, participants are encouraged to wear gloves and hats.

During the tea, participants can help solve a murder mystery when wealthy heiress, Victoria Thornwhite, is pointed. Everyone involved in her life is a suspect.

Advance reservations are required. Tickets may be purchased by calling Fairlawn at 394-5712 or visiting the museum's gift shop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday or noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
