The Evergreen softball team played an error-free game Tuesday and were aggressive on the bases as they won at Turtle Lake-Clayton 10-2.

Northwood has now six straight games and hold a 6-3 overall record.

Katie Sohn led off the game for Northwood by drawing a walk and stealing second. Rachel Hanley brought Sohn home with a single and then scored herself thanks to a stolen base, single by Lisa Featherly and passed ball. Featherly crossed home plate on Teagen Harings' RBI single to put the Evergreens up 3-0 early.

Turtle Lake-Clayton scored its first run in the second inning, but a single from Teagen Harings and double from Tressa Harings in the third inning made it 5-1 for the Evergreens.

In the fourth inning, Sara Radzak led off for Northwood with a single, stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball. Sohn followed with a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Hanley put the ball in play to score Radzak, and Annie Block hit a sacrifice fly to score Sohn. Featherly rounded out the scoring for the inning to put Northwood up 8-1.

The Evergreens added two more runs in the fifth inning, and Turtle Lake-Clayton scored once in the sixth to make the final score 10-2.

For the game, Northwood had 10 stolen bases. Four of those came just from Sohn, who was 1-for-1 with three walks and two runs scored.

"Katie Sohn has been having some great games -- smart at the plate," said Beth Block, Evergreens head coach.

Teagen Harings had three steals and was also perfect at the plate.

"Teagen batted 3-for-3 in a solid game for her," Block said. Teagen Harings also had two RBIs.

Also collecting hits for Northwood were Hanley, Annie Block, Ashley Block, Radzak, Tressa Harings and Featherly. Hanley had two RBIs while Sohn, Annie Block, Ashley Block Radzak and Tressa Harings added one apiece.

Tressa Harings was the winning pitcher for Northwood. She pitched a complete game, striking out seven while allowing six hits and three walks.

Malorie Nyhus had a double for Turtle Lake-Clayton.

The Evergreen girls also defeated Clear Lake 9-0 at home Thursday.

Harings pitched the shutout, allowing five hits with 12 strikeouts and two walks.

Harings and Ashley Block led Northwood with a pair of hits each. Teagen Harings, Annie Block, Lisa Featherly and Sara Radzak added singles.
