Eugene Vincent Bellino, age 83, of Bemidji, Minn., died on Monday, April 30, 2007, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
The Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Philips Catholic Church. The Revs. Chuck Huck and Bill Mehrkens will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Visitation continues one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji has been entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Honorary bearers will be Breanna Quamme, Nicole Mills, Michelle Jordan, April Moritz, Natalie Moritz, Nathan Moritz, Andrea Keacher, Erika Anderson, Gretchen Anderson, Mikal Peterson, Tyler Roy, Natasha Roy, Erica Roy and Angela Bellino. Casket bearers will be Kenny Bellino, Tony Bellino, Corey Bellino, Adam Quamme, Jeff Keacher, Andy Moritz, Cody Ashton, Ryan Bellino, Chad Anderson and Vincent Roy.
Eugene Vincent Bellino was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Superior, to Frank and Leona Bellino. He grew up in the Superior area and graduated from Superior Central High School in 1941. He then attended Vo-Tech School in the Telegraph Program.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army from 1942 - 1945. As a member of the 87th Infantry Division in Germany, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was part of Patton's Third Army. He qualified as a rifle expert with the combat carbine. Eugene received the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the Victory Medal.

He returned to Superior and then moved to Wilton, Minn. He was a depot agent for the Great Northern Railroad.
Eugene married Muriel Moffet on March 7, 1949, in Wilton. The couple made their home in Bemidji from that time on. His job took him to Bemidji, then to Cass Lake, and back to Bemidji again. He became a traveling agent until his retirement, after 40 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, motorcycle riding, photography and dancing. He enjoyed spending winters in Brownsville, Texas with his wife, Muriel.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Muriel Bellino of Bemidji; seven daughters, Patricia Bellino, White Bear Lake, Minn., Joannie Bellino, Bemidji, Nancy (Randy) Moritz, Emily, Minn., Susan Bellino-Keacher, Maple Grove, Minn., Ginny Bellino, Bemidji, Rebecca (Dean) Anderson, Savage, Minn., and Annette Bellino, Bemidji; three sons, Philip Bellino, Hinckley, Minn., Daniel Bellino, Bemidji, and Gregory Bellino, Bemidji; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, John (Lucille) Bellino, Superior; and step-mother, Mernie Bellino, Superior.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, a sister and an infant great-grandson.
