Edward V. Granroth, 79, St. Louis, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006. He was the son of the late Verner and Ingrid (Runquist) Granroth.
He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth R. Granroth (nee Merz); dear stepfather of Joan (Roy) Flesh, Jean (Michael) Seymour and Richard Riemann; former father-in-law of Megan (Scott) Trilling; dear grandfather of Jillian Flesh, Gwynne (Steve) Brod, Damon (Julie) Riemann, Mark (Kelly) Riemann; dear great-grandfather of Demi Brod; dear brother of Earl (Barbara) Granroth; dear uncle of Garrett (Ruth) and Meal (Sandra) Granroth and Lynn (Clay) Terrell; our dear great-uncle, cousin and friend.
Mr. Granroth proudly served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII in the Seabees and retired from the Defense Mapping Agency in 1987 after more than 41 years of civil service.
He was a member of the Henry Shaw Cactus Society, St. Louis Area Woodcarvers and was an avid golfer and bowler for many years.
Visitation will be at the Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, St. Louis, Thursday, 2-9 p.m., then taken to Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3600 Hampton Ave., St. Louis, Friday for visitation from 10 a.m. to the 10:30 a.m. service. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery. Contributions to Gethsemane Lutheran Church appreciated.
