Edward Kalland, 80, died Saturday Aug. 5, 2006, at Chris Jensen Nursing Home, Duluth.
Ed was born Oct. 7, 1925, to Olaf and Clara Kalland in Duluth. He served in the Navy Seabees during WWII, and was employed at Minnesota Power for 35 years.
Ed was very active in organizing the Woodland youth recreational programs and the Scenic City News in his earlier years. He was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Isabelle Anderson.
Ed is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons, Douglas (Nancy) and Steve (Candy); grandchildren, Christina Elberling and Ian Kalland; and three great-grandchildren.
