Superior High School’s mock trial teams earned second and fifth place during regional competition in Eau Claire Feb. 8.

Sophomore Phoebe Pilon received the best witness award at the tournament. The varsity team, which placed second, will move on to Madison for the state tournament March 13-15.

The varsity team includes seniors Tayler Aspinwall and Cayleigh Burdick, juniors Chayce Strauch, Alexa Dembroski, Shea Callaghan and Ellie Westlund, sophomores Aidan Rusk, Destiny Hering and Sawyer Dunbar and freshman Astrid Zambori.

Members of the junior varsity team include sophomores Kendall Callery, Samantha Olson, Pilon and freshmen Regan Miley, Sophia Moen, Brynn Peterson, Katelynn Tran, Lauren Verdoljak, Christian Fenhouse, Andrew Yingling and Shaelyn McKay.

The teams are coached by Danielle Gondik-Anderson, Heidi Gondik, Douglas County District Attorney Mark Fruehauf, Circuit Court Judge Kelly Thimm, Karry Johnson and Jaramy Hansen.

Musical competition
