Voters in the Maple School District will have an array of choices when they go to the polls in April, as six candidates are running for the three available seats on the school board.

In addition to incumbents Jim Streveler, Gail Saari and Danna Livingston-Matherly, three challengers from the village of Poplar — Milton Olson, Brian Johnson and Jason Deatherage — have put their hats in the ring.

Saari has served on the Maple School Board since 1999, and Livingston-Matherly is finishing up her second three-year term. Streveler has served 16 years on the board, from 2003-2009 and from 2011 to the present.

Of the challengers, Milton Olson has previously served on the Maple School Board. He served one three-year term prior to 2001.

Three candidates are vying for two seats on the Superior School Board. In addition to incumbents Laura Gapske and Mary Smith-Johnson, Steve Olson will be on the ballot. Both Gapske and Smith-Johnson have served one three-year term on the board.

In the Solon Springs School District, incumbents Angela Botner and Ryan Smith, both finishing up their first term, are running for the two available seats.
