The University of Wisconsin-Superior Foundation will host its fourth annual "Superior Day of Giving" on April 4.

Promoted largely through social media and email communications, this 24-hour fundraising drive is an opportunity for alumni, parents, community partners, businesses, faculty, staff and students to join together online to support the important work being done at UWS through the Superior Fund.

The Superior Fund provides support to student scholarships, student-support programs, professors, faculty development and more. Superior Day of Giving is all about participation with the goal of 200 donors this year.

"The university is doing some outstanding things in the Twin Ports region with our Academic Service-Learning and commitment to community growth," said Jeanne Thompson, vice chancellor for University Advancement. "Support given to the Foundation's Superior Fund benefits not only our dedicated students, but also the local community as the university continues to be an important resource."

Most gifts received on Superior Day of Giving are made online, but some donations also come through the mail. When a donation is received online, the donor receives an "I Gave" graphic to share on their Facebook, Instagram or other social media account to let others know they contributed. Every gift of any amount made to the Superior Fund on April 4 will count toward this year's goal.

To participate, visit to donate online, mail a check to UW-Superior Foundation, PO Box 2000, Superior, WI 54880 or call (715) 394-8453.
