The free River Rovers Nature Playgroup for children ages 3-7 begins Thursday, June 20, and runs every Thursday until Aug. 29. The group meets from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lake Superior Estuarium, 3 Marina Drive on Barker’s Island, Superior.
Nature activities, crafts, games, snacks and stories are led by professional education staff and are provided free of charge. Parents or caretakers should attend with their children. No preregistration is necessary and children can join for one week or the entire summer.
Staff at the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve, part of the UW-Madison Division of Extension’s Natural Resources Institute, provide River Rovers.
