A Superior man wanted on a Douglas County warrant was taken into custody Monday following a traffic stop on East Second Street.
Tactical teams from the Superior Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff's Office took part in the stop, according to a Superior Police Department report.
Investigators were watching a residence on 24th Avenue East where the man, Derrick Wade Kastern, 28, was hiding. When he and another man drove away around 3 p.m., officers followed and initiated the stop around 23rd Avenue East.
The other man in the vehicle told officers Kastern had swallowed a large amount of meth. He was transported to Essentia Health-Superior for evaluation and treatment.
