Despite only shooting 5-of-21 from the free-throw line, the Solon Springs Eagles girls basketball team easily defeated the Bayfield Trollers 60-35 in Indianhead Conference action Thursday night in the SSHS gym.
Ciara Gilbert led the Eagles with 24 points. Rachel Hanley had 18 points and Selann Gilbert and Christina Gunnerson chipped in with eight points apiece.
"We rebounded well and our defensive transition was much improved, giving us a lot of easy layups," SSHS coach Dale Rajala said. "But we have a tough stretch coming up and if we don't make our free throws, we're going to be in trouble."
Caddott led the Trollers with 13 points.
Solon Springs, now 4-2 overall and 4-1 in the IC, are at Drummond at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
