Duluth Huskies General Manager Craig Smith officially released the Huskies' 2007 schedule, which features 34 home games, including the Huskies playing at home on Opening Day for the first time since the club began play in 2003.
"Our fans will be treated to 34 home games against the best collegiate competition anywhere in the country," Smith said. "This schedule will be a test for us early with six key North Division games to start the season".
The Huskies open the season May 31 with a home and home series with St. Cloud followed by home series with Alexandria and Mankato. The Duluth Huskies play a 68 game schedule over 74 days.
There will be two new additions to the Northwoods League stable this year with Green Bay and Battle Creek (Mich.) starting play in 2007 in the South Division. The Rochester Honkers will now be a part of the North Division.
Duluth will not play Waterloo or the expansion Battle Creek franchise in 2007 due to the unbalanced schedule.

Also of note, the Huskies will play a split doubleheader with Brainerd on July 26 with the first game being played in Brainerd at 12:35 p.m. followed by the second game in Duluth at 7:35 p.m.
The Northwoods League is a summer collegiate baseball league which provides players with a Minor League baseball experience without jeopardizing their college eligibility. Twenty former Duluth Huskies players are currently playing professional baseball.
