4-year-old boy from Duluth was hit and killed by a car in western Duluth on Saturday evening.
A Ford Explorer traveling east on Grand Avenue hit the boy at about 8 p.m. Saturday at Grand and 92nd Avenue West, according to a report issued by the Duluth Police Department.
The boy was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Medical Center and pronounced dead from his injuries at about 1 p.m. today. His name is being withheld until his family can be notified.
No alcohol or speeding is believed to have contributed to the accident but police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information should call Investigator Ryan Morris at 730-5655 or the traffic office at 730-5030.
