In an effort to accommodate Grandma's Marathon, the Duluth Transit Authority plans to provide runners with free area-wide transportation on all DTA buses and the Port Town Trolley before and after the race on June 16. Marathon and half-marathon runners presenting their "race numbers" can ride any DTA bus or trolley on race day free of charge.

Expect route detours during the running of the marathon starting at 6:30 a.m. June 16.

Westbound buses will be detoured to First Street from 14th Avenue East. Eastbound buses will be detoured along Second Street to 12th Avenue East.

This detour remains in effect until about 2 p.m. DTA service to Park Point will not begin June 16 until the completion of the race, but the Port Town Trolley will provide continuous shuttle service along Lake Avenue in Canal Park during the race between Superior Street and Aerial Lift Bridge, and return to its regular routing after the race. The special trolley routing in Canal Park begins at 11:30 a.m. June 16 and continues until about 2 p.m.
