A Douglas County Communications Center dispatcher is being recognized for the work she does to connect people in crisis with the services they need.

Elizabeth Eibon was recognized as the Wisconsin Telecommunicator of the Year by international 911 industry associations, Association of Public Safety Communications Officials and National Emergency Number Association.

Eibon started her career with Douglas County in 2006. Since the beginning of her career, she has been involved with the Communications Training Program with the department making sure that all new employees have the skills and knowledge they need to become a successful dispatcher.

The honor recognizes Eibon's work as APCO celebrates thousands of men and women who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render lifesaving assistance to the world's citizens.

Douglas County is celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week next week, April 9-15 and Eibon will be recognized with a ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Room 270 of the Government Center.
