Daniel S. Ziebell, 59, of Superior, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.
He was born Aug. 8, 1949 in Baraboo, son of Sidney and Eleanor (Cote) Ziebell.
Daniel served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army.
On Aug. 27, 1971, he married Kathleen Cronin in Chisago County, Minn.
For many years Daniel worked as a welder -- most recently for Superior Steel.

He enjoyed rebuilding English motorcycles and was a member of the Sir Benedict's motorcycle group. Some of his other interests included bird hunting, reloading ammunition for antique shotguns, watching old movies and listening to ZZ Top.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife of almost 37 years, Kathie; son, Patrick (Kelly) Ziebell; daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Larsen and Laura Ziebell; grandchildren, Daryl Ziebell, Taylor Larsen and Gunnar Anderson; great-grandson, Devon Ziebell, all of Superior; sister, Sharon (Arthur) Harwood, Black River Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th St., Superior. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Chaplain Gary Meller officiating.
Military rites will be accorded by the combined Thomas F. Stein V.F.W. Post No. 1091 and the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post No. 435, at the funeral home.
The committal service will be at Veterans Memorial Park in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be Al Cirilli, Sid Lewis, Joe Wojtoff, Clyde Wartiamen and Mark McConnell.
