A Proctor man who allegedly had repeated sexual contact with a minor was bound over for arraignment following an Oct. 21 appearance in Douglas County Circuit Court.
Matthew Jesse Strom, 36, faces felony counts of first-degree child sexual assault and repeated sexual assault of a child. He was released on $10,000 cash bail with the condition that he have no intentional contact with minors, the victim or the victim’s residence. Strom was allowed to have supervised contact with his own children, according to court records.
Strom is accused of a series of sexual contacts with a minor that occurred in various locations, including an apartment and garage in Superior. The acts reportedly took place over a period of four years.
The most serious charge, first degree child sexual assault, is a class B felony that carries a maximum penalty of 60 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $100,000. Strom’s next court appearance, an arraignment where he will be formally charged, was set for Dec. 21.
