A Superior man was sentenced to six months in jail and five years of probation for sexual contact with children under the age of 16.
Tyler Paul Severin, 20, pleaded guilty Dec. 20 in Douglas County Circuit Court to third degree sexual assault and two counts of exposing intimate parts to a child close in age. He was sentenced to five years of probation for the sex assault charge and ordered to register as a sex offender for 15 years. Severin was sentenced to a consecutive six months in jail for the two exposure charges. Huber work release was granted. He was also ordered to have no contact with the reported victims.
Charges of second degree sexual assault of a child, false imprisonment and an additional count of exposing intimate parts to a child were dismissed.
According to the criminal complaints: Severin had sexual contact with one child in his car in 2018 and with a different child in his car in 2017. Both times, he had offered the reported victim a ride home.
