A Minnesota man who allegedly sent sexually explicit photos to two children made his initial appearance in Douglas County Circuit Court Dec. 5.
Keaton Ray Garnatz, 22, of Grand Marais, is facing two felony counts of causing a child over age 13 to view sexual activity. He was released on a $5,000 signature bond and ordered to have no contact with the reported victims.
Both of the teens reported that Garnatz sent them pornographic images, according to the criminal complaint. Some of the pictures sent to one girl’s cellphone included sexually explicit captions.
When questioned by Detective Joe Krieg with the Superior Police Department, Garnatz admitted sending and receiving nude photos from one of the children, the complaint said.
If convicted, Garnatz faces a maximum penalty of six years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000 on each charge. His next court appearance was set for Dec. 18.
