The search continues for a California man who hasn't been seen since he left a motel in the Village of Winter on Aug. 30.

In a news release, Sawyer County Sheriff Doug Mrotek said extensive searches on Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Friday failed to result in any leads regarding the whereabouts of Norbert Anthony "Tony" Dantzman, 89.

Dantzman, a former resident of the Winter area, had traveled to Winter with relatives for a family celebration and had stayed at the Winter Northern Lights Motel. Surveillance video showed him leaving the motel about 9 a.m. Aug. 30. Dantzman suffers from dementia and other cognitive issues and has been known to walk away in the past, Mrotek said.

Dantzman is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 136 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair. He was last seen wearing a light-colored checkered shirt, black vest, black pants, black shoes and a light-colored cap.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office at (715) 634-5213.
