Duluth police investigate fatal stabbing
One man is dead after a stabbing in the Central Hillside neighborhood, the Duluth Police Department reported Sunday night.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 34 E. Fifth St. at 6:21 p.m., Lt. Robin Roeser told the News Tribune and found a 38-year-old man with a stab wound at the rear of the residence. The man was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to a local hospital where he died. Roeser said the stabbing happened outside.
Another man, described by police as being connected to the incident, is not in custody. Roeser said at around 7:30 p.m. that the incident was initially being investigated as a death, and it was not determined at that time whether a homicide had occurred.
Police had a crime-scene canopy set up Sunday night and traffic blocked off with yellow tape.
