Juvenile in custody after posting threat against high school
The Superior Police Department was alerted Sunday to a social media post that suggested a threat of violence at Superior High School, according to a news release issued by the department.
Officers and detectives began working to identify the origin of the post.
With the help of the Superior school district administration at the high school, the juvenile responsible for the post was identified. A short time later, the juvenile was located and taken into custody.
“At this time, we do not believe there are any safety concerns for students or staff at any school in Superior,” Superior Police Capt. John Kiel said in a prepared statement.
The incident remains under investigation by the Superior Police Department and no further information will be released at this time.
