With recent warm temperatures, many are getting antsy for spring in the Northland.

Winter sports are wrapping up and we would like to congratulate all of our community athletes and students on their hard working efforts this season.

At Douglas County, we know Superior and northern Wisconsin is wonderful and has so much to experience year round.

Get involved and get active in your community by visiting the Douglas County website to see available resources or find interests to break your cabin fever.

Upcoming meetings

Forest, Parks and Recreation Committee members gather from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday at the Douglas County Forestry Department, 9182 E. Hughes Ave. Solon Springs. Committee members include Mark Liebaert, John Robinson, Terry White, Robert Mock and Mary Lou Bergman.

A meeting will take place from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Amnicon Town Hall in South Range to discuss the Farmland Preservation Plan.

The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee meeting will take place from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Douglas County Highway Department, 7417 County Road E, Hawthorne.

The ADRC Advisory meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been cancelled.
